Congrats on your order and your new car. The hard part is now beginning, the wait until it arrives in your driveway.

The good news is that this forum provides a great support group with others who can indetify with your pain.

Thanks. I have soooo many BMW memories and now I am about to drive one! In 1979 my family moved to South Africa (I was ten) for work and my dad leased a 7 series. It was an amazing machine, I still remember it, bronze and fast (see pic -- note the tool kit!). When we came back to the states in 1981 he bought another 7 series. I'll never forget those nights on the freeway, coming back from the Laker games (watching Magic, Kareem & James), getting to the 57/22 interchange, thinking we're going too fast Daddy!

Then he retired and bought a 1990 535i. It has 35,000 miles on it today. White with gray. What a great car. And it still kicks it. He passed away last July. I'm gonna keep it!

How about a vanity plate for your new car that says "2udad"?

Nice BMW family story ... custom plate would be a good way to honor him.

You will love the 550 - it's a blast. Maybe someday you will hear "we're going to fast Daddy!"

Congrats on the new order! I ordered my car there too. I got it from Dustin - forgot his last name though. Anyways, the service department there sucks. I went the there twice but they never knew anything so I switched. They gave me a good deal though - I'll give them that.

No pricing yet. Doing it through Costco. Costco pricing on MY06 550i is Invoice +3k.

I'll probably use Crevier for service. It's on my way to work.
