Then that might be right. Your dealer might have given you their "Next" allocation that was open. now that "NEXT" could have very well possibily ment your current Feb Build slot. you might have JUST missed their January build allocation slots.

Dealers usually have thier allocations about 2 months in advance. OH THATS RIGHT THEN... Like for my MINI they got their Feb Build Allocation back in mid to late December (2002) for a Feb Build 2003 car. they Gave me the production number early January but they had it like around Dec 20th to give out.

Heres my time line for my MINI:
Production numbered issured to dealer around Dec 20th
Status: 111 (1/9/03)
Status: 150 (2/5/03)
Status: 151 (2/13/03)
Status: 152 (2/14/03)
Status: 160 (2/18/03)
Status: 190 (2/20/03)
Status: 193 (03/01/03) <--- loaded on vessel
(03/21/03) arrived at Port Hueneme
Car arrived at dealer: (3/26/03) 9:45a.m.
Home in garage by 6:30p.m.

For my E60 I got lucky. Ordered it with the dealer Oct 28th and that was the LAST LAST LAST LAST day they can change the specs of an existing car before it goes into production. and Surely the car went into production the very NEXT day. I was also lucky enough that they had an allocation for a 545 that didnt belong to anyone and it was just a random dealer speced order to be built and sold on the lot so the dealer changed it to my spec.

Here is the time line for the E60

Car Ordered (10/28/04)
Status 150 Production Started (10/29/04)
Status 151 Body Shop Started (11/05/04)
Status 152 Paint Shop Started (11/09/04)
Status 153 Assembly Started (11/10/04)
Status 155 Production Completed (11/11/04)
Status 160 Released to Distribution (11/12/04)
Status 180 Waiting for Export Dispatch (11/15/04)
Status 190 Dispatched / In Transit (11/24/04)
Car Arrived at dealer 16:00 (12/27/04)
Picked up car (12/28/04)

So in your case maybe you missed the deadline for the January build cars or the dealer didnt have any more unclaimed cars to change the spec to yours so he gave you the next unclaimed production number not realizing it wasnt for Jan build but for Feb build.

So I guess others have just been lucky to have squeezed into the next available build slot while you got unlucky and go the next NEXT slot.

The ZPS ZSP 205 416 655 are just the options you got.

ZPS - Premium package

ZSP - Sports Package

205 - Steptronic

416 - rear sunshade

655 - Sat Radio

Is there a site or a phone number of BMW-NA where I can track my car's progress or lac thereof.
