Might be longer than you think. I ordered a 545 SMG, Sport, NAV, HUD, Black Ventilated Comfort Seats, Logic 7, Fold down rears & Rear power sun shades, on 12/12. Today I was told by my dealer that it has been pushed back from 2005/01/04 production to 2005/02/05.

Man this sucks. I was thinking that since I ordered the HUD and Ventilated seats, MAYBE there was a production hold on them for avaliability or something. If you have had your car built with them that blows my theory out of the water.
The dealer did give me a production number back on 12/12. They have repeatedly assured me that the car was allocated for them at that time and they have not changed the platform or done anything else to delay the production.
Owner's circle confirmed on 12/15 that my car was ordered and my name was on it at that time. What gives?!?!? I'm pretty close to cancelling this and picking up a used 2004 7 (sport of course). THen I can sit on the sidelines and see what changes DO occur in April. Please, someone tell me what I need to do to really find out what is happening.

Say the production number you got is for 1/5/05 build car and the deadline to make changes is 12/28/04 you can make changes up till then and after 12/28 it doesnt matter if you try to make anymore changes... it wont happen since it has started production and is too late.
If you got a production number in 12/15 and its the same one and owners lounge is still saying scheduled for production then MAYBE your dealer gave you theirFeb allocation production number not the next allocation... ie. the next NEXT allocation.

[/quote]I'm not the best at contacting BMWus but the owner's circle recognizes my name and confirms that my 545 is "on order." That started 12/14 or 12/15. I don't see a production number or estimated buiild date on that site.
The dealer told me their NEXT production car. The salesman said it wasn't likely it would be built before the 1st week of 2005. We established a weekly call so that he could tell me as soon as the car was given a VIN and put into the "scheduled for production" category. He also gave me production # 6691391 and a tracking number I don't know what to do with: ZPS ZSP 205 416 655. This from my notes written 12/12.
Any other thoughts?
