Very individualized.? I like your caliper job.? I wanted to do mine red, but after listen to some opinions here I on the site, I decided to leave them alone.? Looks great!? Enjoy it!

What opinions? does the red detract from teutonic BMWness of the car, does it affect the feel or the handling?

Some guys mentioned that the painted calipers look best on the sports version, the 545's, and the aftermarkets rims. I sort of agreed; mine is more a family car 525. I don't want to look like some kid who tried to soup up a normal ride.

Point is taken. I do have a 545 sport package. You described Nashvilles car as individual. That is all it accomplishes.

I got a 4 door sedan so I could carry around wife and 3 children when we didn't want to use the minivan. The Calipers on the 545 are huge and I think they are feature of the car that can be brought attention to.

It doesn't affect anything but the appearance. I had my BMW technicians look at them before, during, and after I painted them Red. For me, I was trying to get a sporty 'look'. I totaled my E46 M3 in Feb. and my insurance didn't want me in another one. And while I think the E60 looks good in any package, I wanted to bring out the aggresive, sporty look with mine. It was all about me.
And I am a BMW purest. I don't think the red detracts from any of it's BMWnish (if that is a word).

BMWofNashville:

First congrats on the ride! Looks great.

I seem to remember that you may have posted an earlier thread about a spare interior trim assembly you had lying around the dealer. My 530i will be delivered with wood trim, but I am looking to swap out with the aluminum that was optional in 2004 only. Do you by ancy chance still have that?

Cheers,

OnOn

Yeah, I've got an entire set of the wood (code 438). It needs a home, so let me know. Do you need the wood or you want me to see if I can find the Aluminum trim?

I agree. I think yours and Nashville's breaks look fantastic - definitely something I've been considering "stealing" when the weather gets warmer. Don't know if it will look quite as cool on the 530...
