Could do - except for:-
1 Green card issue
2 Your pres is even dafter than our PM - you'd have to get Martin Sheen and his crowd to actually run the country (and their script writers )
3 Having said that, your taxes are a lot lower, so maybe the Green Card lottery beckons

good points

Okay, so a person in the UK can't order an E60 for delivery in the US, that's clear...

What about if a UK buyer want's to buy one of the cars that are built over here like an X5 or Z4? Doesn't it seem like they should be able to schedule a delivery at the Performance Center? Sort of a European Delivery in reverse? They could drive it around and tour the USA (not such a bad place to visit) they just couldn't speed (except on the Performance Center track.)

If they don't offer that type of thing, they really should...

edit:I just realized there's a whole other thread on this subject: http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=28775

sorry again Rudy, but I think this applies to US only as well. I think you can still tour the factory, but you can not pick up the car and drive around US with it and then drop it back off. I'm not 100% sure, but I will find out tomorrow from my friend that works there. Btw, I just did a Performance Center as well, back in May, a week before my ED experience. I will post this in a separate thread.

Rudy,

I think a US Delivery could very well be offered by BMW, but it would have to be the BMW organizations in their respective countries that set up the program and would have little to do with BMW NA. Our ED program in the US is mainly arranged by our BMW organization here (BMW NA). To BMW AG's delivery center in Munich Euro Delivery cars are just like any other cars they deliver to German and foreign customers. In the same way I think a US Delivery for UK or German customers would have to be arranged by BMW UK and BMW AG respectively. If they do that I don't think BMW NA or Spartanburg would have a problem.....it would just be the same as Spartanburg delivery to US customers but with different paperwork. I also think that non-US spec cars are allowed to be driven in the US if they are owned by foreigners and are here on a temporary basis (at least it used to be like that years ago).
