Hi, I brought my 530xi in for service and got a white 335xi as loaner car. The back bumper of the car was damage by some1 when I parked it in the parking lot and left for dinner . The damage was not very obvious but it pretty bad when look closed up. What should I do about it? Thanks for any helps.

Tell the Service Advisor what happened and also see if the parking lot has surveillance cameras.

Beyond teling the SA and finding out if there is surveillance there isn?t much you can do.

Well, if you are fairly certain it happened while in your possession, I think you should tell your service advisor what happened and give your insurance company a call. It sucks, but I'm afraid its on you. If you dont, and somehow it slides past them, its likely the next guy might catch the shaft and get charged for it, would would be a pretty raw deal.

what is the cost of replace a back bumper for a 335xi? I think there is nothing can be done to fix the damage beside replace the whole thing. The damage is small but it is severe.

my dealer didnt give me any form to fill out. They just took my license and credit card and made a copy. I initial on the copy to ensure them i will be the one driving the loaner and agreed that money will be charge on the credit card if not return the vehicle on time.

Did you read the fine print on the paper you signed, I'm pretty sure you're liable for any damages as well. Do the right thing and let them exactly what happened.

most case they will fix the car and pay through your credit card.

did you try to buff it out with rubbing compounds? sometimes that helps..

There is actually no contract or form of any kind for me to sign. Its just a copy of my driver license and credit card. They told me their printer is broken and no contract for me to sign. I will pay for the damage if I can not find something to cure it. I will post some picture of the damage tomorrow and see if anyone can help me with it. Thanks for all the help so far.
