Roost has it dead on. HUD is great to have with NAV. The directions and the next street are in the window. You really don't need to look at the NAV screen!

Thanks guys! This looks like a really cool forum. Thank's for the link to the PDF. It should have been obvious. This site rocks!

To those who asked about the HUD, I test drove a car who had it and for some reason it just got on my "nerves". It was annoying to me, so I opted out. The navigation is more for my wife anyway

I also didn't get the sport package, because I heard mixed things about active steering, and besides the chairs, all the rest I can do aftermarket (suspension, roll bars, rims, etc.) if I decide to later.

I live in the Boston area BTW. I know I need to update my info here and I will.

BTW, I'm not exactly sure what tires come with the 05 530i non-sport package. Anyone know? Is it consistent or does it change by geographical location? I want to look at how good or crappy they are and will probably replace them with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S - my favorite tire for all around, and for the little snow we get here in Boston it's fine. I want to avoid a dedicated winter tire. I've never had them, but then again I've only had FWD cars. My last RWD was a Mustang Cobra in 1996. That tail loved to move around. I think that 530i will be more tame due to less power, more even weight distribution, and the DSC.
