On my way back from vacation I hit a deer on I-95 and now I'm filing a claim with my insurance company. The damage was minor in comparsion to other deers that I have hit in the past. My question is this, How do I get my insurance company to replace my old bumper with M-tech bumper? I was planning on buy the m-kit when I returned from vacation, but now this happen so I why have them fix my car with oem stock bumper then replace it with M-tech bumper in another week or so. Also, I'm not sure how the insurance company will handle this issue with my lights. After I hit the deer, My lights went out for about 10 minutes and did not come back on. Once I was able to turn them on, I notice that the side brackets that hold them in place were gone or broken, In addition, the daytime running bulb had shifted and started to melt inside the headlight unit with flames sparking. I quicking turned off the lights and pulled the bulbs, but it was too late the innner plastic part that mounts the buld was melted--How do I explain that to insurance company. They want me to take my car to their specialist so they can start working on it, but how do i tell them I want a different bumper? Do I tell them to assesed the damage and cut me a check, or buy the bumper independently and have the insurance company pay for the painting and fitting of the bumper. Any help will be appreciated.

BTW if your car is still under bmw warranty you have to go to a certified bmw repair shop!!!!file the insurance claim and take the car to a body shop and let them know that the regular oem bumber and the mtech cost about the same and that you would appreciate if you could get the mtech instead im pretty sure they would do this for you because they overcharge insurance company's anyway
