My 2004 needs an upgrade and I want to know how long it takes and how much is it? I know I can make a story like the Idrive being locked up , etc. But I am curious to see what the actual price is for just an upgrade? If anyone know the actual price I appreciate a reply. Thanks,

Is it 150-200 USD? For a full software upgrade? Or can I just get it done if I want to get the Bluetooth for my car. It is prewired for it and just need to ativate it (how much is that) and do they automatically upgrade the softaware for the bluetooth when I pay for the bluetooth activation?
Thanks,

Vasko

You should be able to get your software upgraded at no cost under warranty. All you need to do is have a complaint about a problem that has been corrected with a newer version of software than you currently have installed.

Alohalc is right, but what is your car and when was it built? There have been recalls that required a software update. Has your car ever been in the shop for anything? I made an appointment back in Jan 2005 for my Sirius install and was told there was a recall that got me updated from 11.x to 15.0. That's how I got my software updated, cost $0.

I took delivery of my car in July of 2004. I had a CPT9000 installed. About two weeks before my first service, the CPT9000 was having sync problems. When I brought it in for service, I asked how much for the bluetooth upgrade and they charged me $90 and they also loaded the latest software version at that time...

Obviously, I threw away a bunch of money on the CPT9000, but bluetooth is working better than the CPT9000 ever did...
