After looking at many cars, i have finally decided to get a 5 series.
I have just been to the bmw dealer. They are selling the m sport package for $5000 au for 525i and $4000 au for 530i. I was just wondering why is it so cheap? Cause i no a 18 inch star spoke styling 124 alloy wheels cost $4750 au and the whole m package cost only $250 more than the alloy wheels.

Also there seems to be no option about HUD in the option list, i forgot the ask my dealer about it. So does it mean that i won't be able to get the HUD in australia? And if it become aviliable later, will i be able to get it after i got my car?

Another thing is that, is there a huge difference between power in the 525i and 530i, I test drive both, but i feel that they a almost the same. But yet the price difference in around $20000 au. I no the 530i has more standard options, but it would only cost around $3000au more to get an 525i to the same spec as 530i.

Last thing, wats the difference between the sport steering wheel and the normal one, and if u order ur car wif the m sport package, can u have the normal steering wheel instead of the sport? I asked my dealer, but he can't seem to give me an answer.

I know i have a lot of questions, but i don't know where to get answer for it. Also i am in Australia, just in case some option are different between countries. Many Thanks for helping me.

HUD requires a different windshield and electronics. Can't get it later.

The 530i with the new motor is the one you want to get. I would wait for it. If you don't wait, the 530i pulls harder than the 525i in general. Better passing capability, especially from 40mph to 100mph.

My dealer told me nothing about the new motor, when will the new motor be released?

There are some posts on it somewhere on the board. Sometime next year. I've seen a post where a member already has one on order. I think in Europe.

Also supposed to be some changes to the car coming soon. BMW is delaying production of M5 because they want to include these changes and at least one of these is supposed to be a visible change. No one knows what the changes are for sure but you might want to wait until some details are released.

HUD on RHD cars isn't available yet. Will be March 05 for the UK, so maybe available elsewhere around the same time.

AFAIK, the M sport package doesn't allow you to have a different steering wheel. But the M sports wheel is great, so why change.

Get the M sport, you will like it.

BTW, where in OZ are you? I'm from Perth, but now living in the UK.

I test drove one yesterday and that sport wheel is one of the cars best features. It is really chunky, quite a bit thicker than the standard wheel and feels great. Get in the car and feel it and you'lll be convinced
