A month ago I nicked a curb which rubbed about an inch and a half of the rim lip. As per fellow forum member C's Bimmers suggestion, I called George from Alloy Wheel Repair www.mobilewheelrepair.com 516-662-3314, gdiaz@mobilewheelrepair.com
I called, he came the following day. He was on-time and is really a nice guy. He spent about an hour, removed the wheel, and worked on it inside his panel truck.
The finished product is great, it cost $85 and my baby is perfect again.

Great! Glad it all worked out. I need to give them a call again. The wife got a slight rash in one of the fronts. It's ok though...I locked her up in the basement for a week and finally let her out last night. She's not allowed to touch the car for a month.

Glad to hear all is well. Do they charge a flat fee per wheel or do they charge by the hour? Do you have any before/after pics?

The after looks like a new wheel, no before pics. Maybe C's Bimmer has a better idea on pricing.

It really depends on the damage of the wheels. For a slight to moderate curb rash, $85 is right. For something that goes the entire circumference of the wheel, that will probably be more. And if it's a 3 piece wheel that's been bent, they have to take the wheel back to their shop and do serious work on it, which of course, costs more money.

Regardless, if you live in NY area, these guys are great! They'll come to your office or home. They're mobile and do all their work on site.

Give George a shout and ask. It can't hurt to ask. They're really nice people.
