So I'm bringing my car to the service department for the following items:
1. Passenger Seat Restraint Fault
2. Engine Fault
3. Emissions Recall (received letter back in Sept).
4. Software Upgrade (?)
How long can I expect to be away from my car? The dealership (TULLEY of Nashua) says I will get a loaner. Anyone get their car serviced there? What model of loaner car did you get?

normally it'll take a day. you can either get a loaner or their shuttle service. if you called in ahead of time for your appointment, your service advisor would reserve a loaner for you but model may vary. i got another e60 one time. a enterprise rental the next time because the loaner reserved for me has a little accident in that morning. i also used their shuttle service before.

I dropped off my car this morning for Sirius install, broken headlight bracket, rattling passenger seat and the same emissions recall, which entails a software upgrade. I was told at least two days for the recall/software issue. Hopefully my dealer is just being conservative in their guidance, but we'll see. Had booked two weeks in advance and got a 2004 325i. Nice to have another BMW for a loaner, but I must say, it only makes me that much happier w/ my 545. Granted the poor thing has probably been abused as loaner w/ 11,000+ miles on it, but it's noiser, not nearly as smooth and for all those who talk about the "cheap" E60 interior, looking at this car, I'm confused as to what they are comparing it too.

Just got home and waiting in my mailbox was another recall letter... this time for the heated seats... I guess this will lengthen my car's stay at the dealership...

Just spoke with my service advisor and they are now hoping for tomorrow evening. That would three days for the recall/software update and Sirius install. Keeping the fingers crossed that it doesn't drag out further.
