Model Year: 2011
I just got the extended warranty and it covers the major components. It is not as complete as the original warranty. Also, once you are in the extended period there is a $50 deductable per repair. As far as the electronics are concerned, I was told that it only excludes the radio, CD changer, phone and Nav. It does include heat and AC so, I figure that the i-Drive must be covered since that's how you access these features. At least that'll be my argument if it ever comes to that. I'm just happy to have some extra peace of mind against a catastrophic melt-down of some really expensive components. I have heard that BMW auto transmissions are not too reliable after 60,000 or so.
So far this car has been very reliable but I'm only up to 37K in miles.
