My credit union sells an extended warranty from Assurant. This is apparently the same company that BMW uses to underwrite their CPO warranties. For my new 535xi, I have a quote of just over $1K for a 6 year/75000 mile warranty. (It's $1500 for 6/100000 but I don't put that many miles on my car.) This is a hell of a lot cheaper than the extended warranty that the dealer tried to sell me (which also had some unacceptable exclusions in the contract).
Anybody have any experience with this company, good, bad, or indifferent? Thanks.

I'm not a fan of after market warranties in general. Your car is covered for 4 years...chances are you won't even own it by the time you need an extended warranty, and an after market warranty won't add 0.02 to the value on the used market.
