Depends, it seems like a lot to me, but if you are truly well covered then it's a bargain. It doesn't take long to rack up $6000 in repairs on these cars.
I was thinking the same, but with this economy, having money in the bank is more important.

I have had very good experience with the Fidelity warranty I purchased with my Acura MDX, purchased back in '03. I paid about $1400 (at time of purchase, for a 7 year, 100k bumper to bumper including electronics). Over the life of the vehicle (98kthus far), this warranty has paid for itself 3X. It has covered a starter, engine mounts, torque converter, pressure sensors. Each time the dealer dealt directly with Fidelity and they took care of everything needed.

Not sure how well that experience will transfer to their warranties on BMW. I'm sure warranty costs would be higher on the BMW, especially since not purchasing the warranty w/as part of a new car purchase.

My dealer sells Fidelity policies. Is it an exclusionary policy? Is it mechanical breakdown coverage or wear and tear coverage? iDrive and components covered?
