In most shops you can save with BMWCCA membership, and you can do oil change and other necessary stuff more frequently, instead of the 15,000 miles before oil change.

This is MY question, I live I NY, I have been to a couple of area dealers, and NONE of them were willing to honer the service contract that Twinkidneygrill (Fidelity Warranty) offers.

Whatever the method, NEVER drive a BMW out of warranty (or Extended Maintenance in this case) as it will tear out you heart through your wallet!

I did not ask my dealer if they will accept Rodney's warranty so I called BMW Customer Relations and my car was in the system. My dealer has the same information and no problems servicing covered items. Dealers just want to make money selling the same product. My dealer even stated that without the key it is not even possible to sell it - which is not true.

Being that it is a Bimmer, I would expect to have to pay a little more for parts and labor, but consider this for a moment: If I elect to keep my 06' 5er beyond the warranty period, aside from some major meltdown of the I drive I would think that pretty much anything else I should be able to handle either myself, or via a competent indie shop or mechanic (repair or maintenance) as long as I can find parts, am I wrong? Is a bimmer THAT much more pricy to own than another german or japanese car? can you or anybody else recommend a reliable parts place?

So if I purchase a warranty/maint. agreement from Twinkidney, I DON'T have to first make sure that I have a dealer in my area that will accept it? Are you saying that ALL dealers are obligated to honor it (according to BMW customer relations)?

i am thinking of getting this. My car has 43k miles and has warranty til 2009 but talked to the dealer & they said that i can extend it to 100k or 6 years which will be 2011. I can do it before it expires or within 10k of expiration but it will cost me a little more. i don't really want to spend the extra money, so i will take this as a security blanket and swallow the bitter pill.

At least it worked for me... Search the forum for 800 number and give BMW NA a call. Anything sold by BMW dealer should work and Twinkidney is one of Atlanta's BMW dealers.

Please forgive me if I seem a little intrusive, but I've have explored this issue before, and the dealers here on Long Island either were a little negative about honoring a service contract from Fidelity, or, gave me the impression that they were just playing dumb. Either way, all three of my local dealerships gave me the same response: "you can purchase Bmw's 2OP plan, or purchase a third party repair contract from the company WE use", none were too interested in hearing about anything from bmw of Atlanta, which is why I wanted to make sure that if I go with TKGrill, ANY dealer will honor it. Is that what you have? You said your car info was "in the system", that sounds like the 2OP plan (original owner pp) which IS sanctioned by BMWNA), Twinkidneygrill offers this product, AND repair contracts backed by a third party insurer (Fidelity), which is the one I'm interested in, but my dealers have refused to honor, which do you have?
