I took my E60 to the dealership this morning for a microfilter change and Passenger Airbag Malfunction. I learned that my CPO is still good until 3/2011 but my Extended Maintenance expired last month. The new Extended Maintenance which will last until 3/2011 is 2K. I decided for my own piece of mind to take it. I currently have about 46K miles on the car and drive it about 16K a year minimum. I was told the brakes (front and rear) would cost about $1500 and the microfilter change and a couple other things for today would cost me around $300, plus oil change and crap so it looks like it would be close to a wash.

Did I throw away my money? Or is this a smart move?

Also, they gave me a 2009 328i loaner. I am glad I didnt get the Toyota Camry that I had last time, but driving the 3 makes me happy I have the 5.

yes it is the way to go. I have it in my car , I drive it hard. Thus every 6 months my breaks are changed and almost 2times a year they change my oil. it is worthed.

Great! My dad saw my loaner and asked what happened to my car and I explained the service and that I bought the Extended Maintenance and he was telling me no one ever buys that. I thought I push my car alot...especially since installing the sprint booster so I would rather have everything covered. Glad I did it.

You get new brakes twice each year? Does that include pads and rotors?
