I bought mine when I bought the car because I own the car and plan on owning it for sometime. So havent used it yet because I am still on the factory warranty. But all i can say is...BMW = Buy My Warranty

 

i too will have the car for a long time and my dad and i plan on buying the extended warranty in the future. it gives peace of mind after factory warranty. for sure it would cover the engine, but im not sure what else if any.
