My Ride: 2005 545i 6spd sport, nav, cwp, sirius, logic 7. on order 128 wheels non run flat tires.
Just wanted to post my experience with the manufacturing time table to date. I currently own a 545i 2004. Ordered a 2007 x3 on nov. 13th and the sav completed the build process on nov. 24th. The phone response system at bmw is up to date as opposed to the website. Anyway it is now at the port being readied for shipment. I checked the wallenius schedule of departures and found that their is two ships bound for South Carolina that fit my timetable for delivery. Expected pickup for performance center deliveryis Jan. 5,2007.A total of 53 days from to pickup. JUst thought this would be helpful for the members ordering cars.

If you are a little closer to the factory, my experience in the UK was :
Ordered 18th October
Built by 20th November
Confirmed for collection from dealer this monday 4th December.
approx 45 days.
Thou i was promised mid/late nov......
My dealer had the car on preliminary order already. This means that 'a' car is ordered and can have the spec changed by the customer (ie me) up until a certain point. If it passes that point, they have a car they can sell at a fixed spec, either before it arrives or from stock.
If its a 'from scratch' order, it will be a longer delivery (ie not a car in a fluid state in the order system)
cheers

My Ride: G30 M550i
Model Year: 2018
Keep in mind that if you choose Performance Center delivery, it adds a week or two to the delivery date (compared to if you took delivery at the dealership) since they want to make sure the car is actually there for you on your scheduled date so you don't make the trip for nothing...
