My Ride: 2008 535i Alpine white steptronic auto, Sport, Cold weather, premium, comfort access, iPod and USB adapter, Logic7, sirius radio, and PDC.
I just picked up my 2008 535i from the dealership for service and upon inspection of the work that was done I found that the airbox was not reinstalled correctly. They did not re-latch all the clips that hold the airbox cover and filter, the metal ring that holds the front tubing that leads from the airbox to the front turbo was loosened all the way, and the back 3 wires that secure just behind the airbox were left loose. This was also only the things that I could see with the hood opened. The dealership was fixing issues that I was having with a rough idol. They installed a couple of gaskets, removed the cats, removed the turbos, and adjusted the wastegates.
What do you think I should do? Do you think anything else was not installed correctly? How should I document this if future problems occur?

looks like they just did a sloppy job...you can either
A) Go back to the dealership and have them correct their mess....
or
Follow my DIY in reverse of the air box intake removal for the 535i and just clean the mess up yourself..
here's the thread: https://5series.net/forums/index.php...opic=78399&hl=
either way, GL

***since you are concerned about the actually quality of all the work done...I would perhaps try taking it to another dealership and have them check it out

If you can do it, don't waste your time going back there EVER.
Sort of related story.
Last time my buddy did an oil change at the dealership, one of the techs forgot to screw the oil cap back on...well needless to say it was a FAIL moment. Drove off for two minutes and Kaboom! oil all over the motor.
