Thumbs up

I am heading to the dealership to test an '07 530 xi and if I like it I may go ahead and order tomorrow. I am thinking about getting it loaded up, except perhaps for HUD +/- night vision.

How much is realistic over invoice for a car like this? Can I get it for $1500 over or is that too optimistic since the '07s just came out?

My Ride: 2007 Titanium Gray 550i, with sport, nav, HUD, Logic7, sat radio, cold weather, rear side airbags, rear seat heaters, and it goes like a bat outta hell!

I got my 07 550 for $1500 over invoice, and I know at least one other member here that got his 550 for only $1000 over invoice, so I don't think you are being too optimistic. As a matter of fact, I would start by offering something less than 1500 and see where it goes. Just make sure that the "invoice" amount you are paying a bump on does NOT include any "hidden" or additional fees.

Good luck, and let us all know what you end up ordering, and what kind of deal you got!

Do you use the Consumer Report "bottom line" price as invoice, Edmunds, or what the dealer gives you? Apparently there is a training fee that needs to be worked into the invoice as well as some other dealer fee that varies by region?

I looked at both Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) and Edmunds. If you look at the price for the base model of your car, the training fee is built in to it. It's only about $180. The other typical fee is for regional advertising, and typically only applies to dealerships in large metro areas I believe. When you negotiate your deal, if you are going to work from the invoice up, make sure that you exclude all other fees. Or, work it the other way around. Figure out what you want to pay over invoice, and offer that amount. Then the fees don't come in to play.

Hope that helps!
