I am considering a CPO 2005 545i or 2007 550i (with manual transmission). I am leaning toward 545 for:
1. Lower price
2. Better fuel economy (325 HP is enough for me)

I need your feedback on these cars, regarding reliability and potential areas of issues.

Any information on recent CPO pricing on these cars (i.e. how much you paid recently) is also highly appreciated!

Thanks!

545i has better fuel mileage.
550i has better power (360 hp) obviously more expensive and new.

550i has more power, except its heavier. So your marginal increase in power is minimal. But, its a newer car. I enjoy my 545i very much.

I love my 545i, it's a great car!! You should be able to get the 545i for a bit less as it is an older model, and the performance is virtually the same between them too! Good Luck with your decision!!

+1 I totally agree. She's been good to me. If $ isn't an issue go for a 550i. A 545i can be had nowadays for a great price

PM Jake (jdhart73) regarding CPO E60s. tell him Frank sent you.

Having owned both, the 545i was a blast, but the 550i is much more refined in the road feel and has far fewer small issues. Go with the 550i. You will also have more warranty, so be sure to price that into the equation.
