If there is a service bulletin with that date, it is likely that the problem was fixed sometime in late 2003 production. If so, that would explain why my March 5 production, and maybe some of the others, have no cracks. This might be something that we could ID with part numbers. If so it would add peace of mind to many. My part numbers are:

HELLA 63.12-6 949 634 (right)
HELLA 63.12-6 949 633 (left)

Also, the part does not look like an integral part of the light itself, but more like an anchor for the seating of the light assembly.

Thanks for the heads up on this one! Jan 04 build, one cracked, one completely broken. Was at the dealer this morning for fuel line clip recall and both the recall and the headlight brackets were fixed. Took a little over one hour for both, and an oil and filter change. Now we'll wait to see if the new ones eventually crack as well, or if this will do the trick.

October bulid. Both are cracked.
