Can you order your 5er with the M-Kit from the factory?

I see lots of people saying they ordered their 5er with the M-Kit.
My dealer told me I have to put it at their body shop aftermarket.
Can you order the car and have it delivered from the factory with the M-Kit painted and installed?

You can in UK and Europe, not sure about the US...where are you from? you might update your info for future regional questions you might ask

My Ride: '05 545i - scheduled for ED pickup in Munich on 7/22!
For US cars, its not installed at the factory. But you can have it installed at the VPC (after the ship arrives in the US and before it reaches your dealer).

Also - what is the cost? The option is $1680 for the parts, unpainted. But what would the cost be to have it painted and installed at the VPC?

My concern about doing the install at the dealer or the VPC is whether the color of the M-kit will match the color of the rest of the car?

My car will have the body kit installed at the VPC and when I get it I will let you know if the color is different... if it is... Im gonna be pissed!!!!

Either they're stupid, or maybe they want their bodyshop to make an extra buck off you.

I think total price, at cost, is about $2500-$2600 for parts, paint and labor. I don't recall the exact amounts but around $1K-$12K for the kit and $1400 for paint and install (maybe even less). One of the forum members found out the info and he and some others have been successful at negotiating to those prices when they ordered their M Kit with their car and had it done at the VPC.
Even if you get it afterwards, you can get the kit from Crevier BMW in Santa Ana for $1280. Paint and installation should range between $1K and $1500. I got mine done from a local tuner shop for $1100. The paint and install looks perfect to me.

Invoice for VDC install + part is $2400.
