When I had my BSW stage 1 package installed the audio shop guys disconnected the airbags on the door panels. I specifically told them not to and I also gave them the instructions from BSW's site... Anyhow now I have airbag warnings. They said they will pay for me to have it reset at a shop, but I searched the forum and found a thread about reseting oil warnings or something like that. It involved holding the trip reset button and cycling through error codes that way. The thread wasnt about resetting air bag warnings, but I thought it might work... I tried it and cant get it to work. Am I doing something wrong? Or is my only option going to a shop?

There is no way to do it through the i-drive. You'll have to visit an independant shop that specializes in BMW or go to the dealer

Correct.

This needs to be done by a BMW dealer.

This should be an easy and cheap fix by your dealer or independent BMW shop. G/L

You can buy a device off ebay that will do this. Once done you can resell or rent it out here on the forum. Lots of people who tinker with their car get this from time to time.

Would the device be something like this ?

Also wondering, if the audio shop had disconnected the battery before doing the work / disconnecting the airbags, would Kryptus have still got the airbag warning ?

I was replacing the door trim on my E60 last weekend and the door panel slipped out of my hands disconnecting almost everything including the passenger side airbag. Even though my battery was disconnected the airbag light still came on after reconnecting everything and starting the car. I'm just going to find an independent to clear the code.
