I recently bought a car that I found on Ebay. Sent them money, they shipped the car to me next day.

Never saw it in person.
Never drove it.
Saw 30+ pics.
But it's perfect, everything the seller advertised and more.

Would you ever take that leap of faith- even if, as in my case, it meant saving $10k?

WOW you're a brave man. I guess there are still some honest people out there. I dont have that much trust in the human race as you do anymore.

I'm glad it worked out for you.

Congrats!

Sooooo

That's how I got my 545! Never test drove the SMG. I did test drive a 545 6speed though prior to taking delivery of the car.

One of my close friends bought a 2006 CLK-500 for a really great price on ebay. And the car itself is awesome. My vote: YES

I was really tempted to buy this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...165947&rd=1

A brand new 2006 BMW M Coupe - selling price was $30,100.00. Just seems too good to be true.

Bought and sold a couple motorcycles on ebay before, no real problems. Had one buyer baill out on me, but the second buyer was a great person to work with and i'm glad it went to him.

EBay is a great source! Albiet, be careful with e60 BMWs - a bunch of grey market vehicles were released from NJ and seem to have found there way there...if they are purchased in states that dont enforce a lemon law under these buy back conditions (like TX) you can end up with one of these cars unknowingly...

I have bought:

2004 Touareg
2005 Audi A4 Convertible
2006 Mini Cooper S
2005 Corvette Convertible

In each case, I have made money on these vehicles - enough that cover my costs and prevent me from losing when I am ready to get another. In some cases I have only kept these cars for a few months (what can I say-- car freak!).

If you know what youre buying, and its not been moded out etc, the "in person" experience is under rated. EBay has buyer protection for up to $20,000.00. Moreover, most of these guys are making a LOT of money selling over the web (consider they sell 10 cars a month and make $1000.00 per car)...the last thing they want is negative feedback that would slow down there business!

in 2001 i bought a brand new tahoe online ( i know dont laugh, im beemerized now), even got 3 dealerships in a bidding war. the truck was about 43,000 retail, got them down to 33,000. went and signed the papers. buying a used car online w/o seeing it, i dont know, people arent honest anymore especially when your dealing w/ thousands of dollars, but i guess every situation is different. hopefully you got what you wanted and are satisfied. good luck !
