Budget allows either 2006 330i or 2006 525i: Which one should I buy?

I realize this is an E60 Forum, but I have enjoyed reading the posts, and everyone is pretty much professional and helpful on this forum. So, I am looking for opinions.
Okay, here is the scenario. I have a budget, and I need to stay within my budget. My budget limit is $51,000 including 8 Percent sales tax. So, here are my BMW choices:
2006 330i,
Sparkling Graphite
Gray interior
automatic
sport package
premium package
navigation
Logic 7 Sound System
comfort access
sirius satellite radio
heated front seats
Price OUT THE DOOR, including 8 % sales tax and license fees is $47,500.
2006 525i
Silver Gray/Black Interior
Automatic
Sport Package
Premium Package
Navigation
Xeons
Price OUT THE DOOR, including 8% sales tax and license fees is $51,000
Which one would you buy and why?

im biased towards performance so i would say the 330i, its a cracking little car and you have logic 7 as standard ... no xenons on it though ? add them
with the extra 4K$ you can play around with the option sheets

I'm all for performance too but I have to say 2006 525. Just a better package other than the 330 power but its worth the luxury that you get over the 3.

... and the interior is slightly cheaper but if you spec it nicely the car punches way above its weight/from e90post.com

buy an e60 then...dont listen to him
, also get tint on the windows, get the adaptive headlights, and perhaps even the adaptive cruise control ...and you can stay within 51k$
and besides being the new model your car will depreciate by less than the e60

As to the comments about the E60 interior being higher quality; I don't really see it. I think the E90 interior space is much more "BMW" than the 5er. I love how the E90 center console is more contoured and how it seems to be a little more biased towards the driver.

I have to agree with 700700 here. If that was my choice I would go with the 330i vs a 525i especially the way you have it configured, you are getting more in the 330i. I'm not a fan of the 5 till you get to the 530i or higher. I love the looks of the 3 series. I have been in a 330i with sport package. I think it handles great. I do think the interior could be a little better quality but I'd still go for it. Just personal choice. Good luck either way.
