I came from a 330i and I miss how fun it was to drive. It all comes down to if you need a roomy car. If not, you will be more than satisfied with the 330i.

Good luck with your decision.

I have to go with the 330. If you don't need the space of the bigger E60 sedan, go with the 330... If you have kids/family to haul, the 525 is probably your best option.

I had a 330 loaner, and, after throwing it around a couple curves to have some fun, I wanted out. Didn't interest me, the interior looks like it shouldn't cost what in currently does, and it's too small.

I went from a 330 to an e60, and I'm never going back. I think that the vast majority folks in a similar scenario would agree.

So, logically speaking, there's no comparison.

That being said, when I was in my 20's, I might have disagreed with the above. So, if you're in that age bracket, the 330 is an acceptable choice. But, even if you are in your 20's, and all your friends are driving around packed like little tuna fish inside 3 series sedans, why not buy a 525 and be "the man."

It all really depends on what you want.

Do you want faster, arguably better spec'ed car, and still have cash leftover to play with? Then get the 330i.

Go for the 525i if you want to differentiate yourself from the 3 series crowd, and end up with - again arguably, a lower spec'ed car. Over time the 525i won't fall into the same category as 3 series where they're as common as a Civic. A 3 series is far from a Honda, but people will think somewhat along those lines when they see the car every 2 blocks.

Both great cars, but in the end I would take E60. 5 series is 5 series no matter what. You can't compare it to 3.

E60 better! and E60 interior is better...
E60 FOREVER!

I also cud by a full 320d as 330 was not out in any of the version we tested and the car was perfect and 11000 less but it is nowhere as my E60 baby cost a lot also to mod it but WE just it!!!
and E90 is smaller.
on the other hand how do you compare Goliat and a Liliputian matter of tastes but my 0.02s for E60.

.... and you do not want to go to E90 forums do you

im biased towards performance so i would say the 330i, its a cracking little car and you have logic 7 as standard ... no xenons on it though ? add them
with the extra 4K$ you can play around with the option sheets
I believe Xenons are standard on the 330.
