Unhappy

Hi all, the dealership is trying to charge me $700 for my rear brakes to be replaced. I have found that the local les schwab will replace my pads, discs, and calipers for under $500. As I understand it, they warranty parts/labor and parts are OEM quality. Can someone help me justify paying the extra $200 at the dealership?

Also, my service indicator shows that I still have 14,000 miles left on my rear brakes, but they sqeek like crazy only when I reverse. Les Schwab has told me that I shouldn't touch my brakes until its around 5,000 miles, because 14,000 miles is still alot of life. Any opinions?

What are some prices paid for rear brake service? THANK YOU ALL!

I dont think you're running low on brakes... there have been a lot of brake squeeling problems. Have a local shop check how much brakes you have left... I think it was the wear sensor issue thats causing the squeek?

Probably your rotors (discs) are warped. How many miles on the car? If your rotors need replaced ... might as well do it all which is what the dealer is recommending. The $200 is a reflection of the labor rate charged.
