Dear fellow forummers,
I want to find out if BMWs carry a country specific warranty or an international warranty as my car's a UK specification vehicle which is imported to Malaysia where I am using it. Is the warranty void when the car is in another country or can we get our local BMW group to get it covered under warranty. Also how many years is a standard BMW Warranty? Thanks

standard warranty is 4 years/ 50,000 miles.
EU (exc UK) is 2 years [can't remember the mileage limit] UK is 3 years [I THINK 60,000 but may have been removed].

not even close, it's 2 years
There's standard and there's standard.
I guess you may be referring to the warranty ex-factory, which is then modified by local territories according to their market conditions.

The actual warranty in different markets differs greatly.

Meaning that, my warranty is void after it is shipped out from the UK (which the car is already in Malaysia)

ask the local dealer.
