will a 530d doing about 12k miles a year cost as much as ?750 to service???

It seems a bit steep to me as previous BMs I've had really only got 1 major and 2 oil services in this time.

BMW 530 - Hi . I got 5% ( which I thought was good at the time ) but now am a bit miffed to discover that you can get 7% on any spec . ( see bmwbuyers.co.uk)
Stu,

Yes I would be miffed too if its 7% now. Lucky I got a 3 month old E60 instead with lots of extras but not the full price.

BMW530 - Page 4 of the Service and Warranty Information booklet states, "Change oil at least once a year". The Condition Based Service (GBS) system should be able to determine that a year has passed and call for an oil change. BMW is indicating that a year is the maximum interval between oil changes regardless.

BMWHobo,

Thanks for that, will keep that in mind when my E60 reaches its first year.

The UK service inclusive is for 5 years or 60,000 miles (with luck you can get to 74K and sell the vehicle !). For a net present value of ?750 (assuming 7% financing) you are actually buying ?170 worth of service costs per year for 5 years (?148 p.a if you can get to almost 6 years). That's a big saving based on my experience with a 325 SEi Touring.

Also, be aware of hidden extras. You'll be amazed at the number of things BMW (at least my dealer) claimed weren't covered under warranty and need paying for separately (if you've had a 7-er you'll appreciate what I'm saying).

Enjoy your driving this weekend !

My dealer tells me this is not possible - it has to be taken out on first registration. My 530D is now 6 weeks old and they told me today that I cannot now take out the service inclusive package - does anyone have any other news

Well your dealer is wrong unless they plan to get you to pay the increased price after July!

There's actually a BMW Service Inclusive flyer/brochure and in the small print at the bottom it says it can be taken up anytime up until the 1st Service. In fact I was the one who pointed it out to my salesman who later followed up on it, which was why I raised this post.

Well I've bought the Service Inclusive for ?750. Rather do it now than fork out an extra ?250 after July.

After checking with my dealer who INSISTS that this can only be taken up on first registration, I contacted BMW Customer Services in Bracknell yesterday.

They also advised me that could only be taken out at first registration, but the dealer should be able to sort out (however it would 'cost a lot more') and they were unable to advise me of the cost.

So much for Customer Services and being able to get a definitive answer.

Has anyone got the service inclusive flyer that they could scan/post on this web site - I will then take into my dealer and show them the small print!

Thanks
