Thanks for your postings. I complained to the dealer who checked with the head service guy. They said their is nothing that they can do since they already contacted BMW through a PUMA case and 50% was their response. They gave me BMW Customer service number 1-800-831-1117 to see what they would do for me. Any suggestions before I call?

I called the Servce Manager at my dealership and told him, rationally, logically, just that. He then called me back saying he got it 100% covered. I think the dealer may have covered the other 50%. I wouldn't had pushed if it wasn't for everyone's comments and detail on this board...hope this helps.

I spoke to the Cust Service rep and really had no luck. He said that BMW does not have a policy of replacing 100% of the tire costs and said that the few that did receive that does not set policy. He said he would call the service manager at my dealership but my options are dwindling.
Side note Tire Rack has four Bridgestone RE050A tires instock for $872.47 including a $100 Bridgestone rebate. That includes shipping. My dealer wants me to pay my 50% (which equates to two tires) which is $817.00 of which their total cost is $1634.00.

Clearly, there are plenty of examples here of people who got 100% credit. Your dealer should be lobbying on your behalf to whomever they report to (regional service rep or something). That's what seems to have been happening for all of us. On my repair order, it shows two tires replaced under a PUMA case and two tires replaced as "customer goodwill" and referenced the name of the person I assume is a BMW regional rep.
Don't give up dude! There isn't an official "policy" but there clearly is a precedent set!

My Ride: 2008 535i: June 6th start build, complete June 17th, at NY Port July 5th, at dealer July 10th, took delivery Friday July 13- Plantimum Bronze/Natural Brown Leather/Light Poplar, Sport Package, Sport Auto, Active Steering, Premium Package, CWP & PDC. Dinan Performance Software 384hp & 421 ft/lbs.
I am happy to report that BMWNA 50% and the dealer 50% are covering 100% of the tire replacement. Replacing the Dunlops with Bridgestones. My dealer has always been great but I did not think I was going to get more than 50% covered. You all were very helpful and supportive which enabled me to wait it out a little longer which is what I needed to do. Thanks.
They also updated my software (I think to v16.2)and installed the bluetooth software patch all for $100. My car is a 3/12/2004 build. I have not played around with it yet, but the car is recognizing my Treo 650.

Dude, you owe us big time!! Congratulations!
(Not that it's required or anything but a donation to the forums might be a way to "thank" us for convincing you to go after that other 50%... )

Those of you who have replaced the Dunlops with Bridgestones, is the ride any better? I'm not reall ahppy with the choppy ride of the Dunlops and today at just over 6000 miles I noticed they seemed noisey. I'm not convinced they need to be replaced, but I'm now thinking they might if they get worse.
