What is BMW's policy on providing loaner cars while your car is in the shop?

For example:

-Are all dealers required to provide loaners?
-Or is the policy up to each individual dealer?
-Will there be any difference in loaner car policy if I buy from and have service done by the same dealer?

Dealers are not required to provide loaners. Generally, if you bought the car from a dealer he will provide a loaner.

That sounds like a "rental" not a loaner!

I have a loaner right now, new x3 - loaner means loaner - there is no charge. If you go to a reputable dealer - they should give you one for free

both dealersips near me come and get your car and leave you with a loaner for any service - such as oil changes, etc

My dealership provided me with a loaner, but they're cars from Enterprise

I am currently driving in a Ford Expedition, not a BMW, while my car is in for mods.

Well, at least I don't have to pay for the loaner, so I guess I shouldn't be disappointed. But man I sure do miss my e60--it sucks having to reach for the radio controls, etc.

Can't wait to get my car back!
