I need to take my car in for some repair, which of these stealerships have the best mechanics

im sure you all have experiences, but no one can tell me why the ABS passenger restraint system light is on , according to a mechanic there are no fault codes when its set up on the computer i have to take it to the stealership.

please advise

South Bay BMW has a great reputation. Another option is to make an appointment with the BMW factory engineer who rotates into each dealership once a month. He/she is great at resolving odd ball problems.

Depending on the year and model of your car...there is a recall for the passenger seat mat sensor for the SRS. which cuases the light to remain on.

I heard about this the problem is even though my car falls in to the date range and model and the problems im having are just the same as the recall notice states, BMW states that my car based on the Vin Code is not affected. I think its funny how the computer diagnostics cannot recognize therirs a fault code for the passenger restraint system yet its the same problem most 5 series have had. I hear the air bag issues works hand in hand with the passenger restraint problem as i seem to have both.

the best i service rep i have come across is Elvis @ new century and even dealt with master tech but can't recall his name, elvis introduced me to him. Asian guy, very helpful and spot on. prior to that i had taken my car in for same issues @ Southbay, cunningham in SD, pacific in glendale and all had the same response cannot duplicate the issue or it's normal. it was a farce. the A/C will not kick in and blow warm air fo the first 5 to 10 min and they said it was normal, i even did side by side with other cars @ at the dealership and same thing it, it's normal. finally the tech kept the car for few days but no issues ever since.
