It probably will work... but the thing is its not guaranteed... so if it doesnt the dealer can say Oh wells... we told you it wouldnt work... but if the dealer is will to try that'll be nice

I am not saying it cannot be done. I only provided the TSB. And we are getting a growing body of evidence that vehicles with build dates prior to 03/05 will work starting in ROW but also in the US. It just becomes a matter of ensuring that EVERYTHING works properly including all Nav and Entertainment functions as well as the more important functions. I have to assume that being it is CCC (MP3 and any potential conflicts) related that there are no driving functions that could be jeopardized such as tranny, DSC, DD, DME, and so on. I fully plan to take the plunge in a few days but like others, can only hope that it works and does not foul up something else. Until and unless we can see real Part Number differences in CCC part numbers pre/post 03/05 I am at a loss to explain why BMW maintains this difference. I am not sure if this is a tested opinion on the part of BMW or an ?assumed? date based on feedback on problems from the field.

I make no claim as to what will work and what will not other than some firm combinations in equipment configurations.
