The more people walk away from their VPC cars the louder BMWAG hears are our complaints. They may be left with a large amount of expensive 2004 cars on their lots when the 2005's arrive. We are definitely at the low end of the totem pole in their eyes.

I spoke with my CA last night, he said the good news is they haven't moved the release date from the 13th. I reminded him they moved the previous date of the 4th the day of the 4th. He said he is 99% sure they won't move it and he has a lot of other customers in the same boat, including 645's. I told him this is the last chance, so we will see on Friday what happens. I agree with Tim C about waiting until the spring, I am driving a 4 wheel drive pickup right now and I already have snows for it.

Same thing here, mine is scheduled to come on the 14th at the dealer, I hope he doesn't call me and give me some bad news because I will really really pissed off.
Let's hope for the best....can't wait to get my baby

Okay ? I picked the car up tonight (damn rain in NYC) ? and took the attached pic from my camera phone. The production date in the car says 7/04. My SA mentioned that this was the first V8 he has seen in a while and he confirmed my vehicle was not part of the recall.
Good luck to all of you waiting!

My belief is that those that yell loud enough will get a new DME faster.
Mine was swapped on the first DME shipment from Germany that left on July 17th.

I got a call from my CA on Friday. He says my car still had a date for the 13th listed as being released from the VPC and had not changed yet, but he had a car coming in this weekend that was produced after the DME issue that was identical to my order except it has Premium Sound. He is giving it to me for a additional $600. I took the deal, so I should have it Tuesday. I will let you know how it works out. I suppose I will still be able to track the old car in the owners circle and see when it actually arrives at the dealer.
