Hi all. Will hopefully be picking my car up in next few days from (London) dealership.
Any words of wisdom on what to check...........
Here's what I've come up with so far.
1. Check car over for any defects (in/out) & mileage
2. Ask for a test drive
3. Valet/Backup/Master key
4. Car mats (thrown in for free)

Check that you have the rechargeable torch in glovebox, again on both occassions I had to go back for it.
Can't think of anything else.
Have fun and don't forget to post pics inside and out.

If possible, try to get a couple of accessories thrown in for free (like the BMW umbrella or the coat hangers). My dealer did them for free.

Random thoughts . . . .
* Full tank of fuel - why not?
* Odometer reading - low, lower, lowest.
* Paperwork - Terms, names, and VIN correct
* Owner's Manual, radio codes, etc - present and accounted for.
* New car smell - aftermarket smells just aren't the same.

Check for cracks in the wood... mine had one, where I've pointed with the black arrow in this picture. It would appear it was due to tight fittings of the interior parts - a stress crack. Dealer is replacing it, but it stands to reason that other cars may exhibit the same defect. My shift knob was scratched too - no doubt due to a dealership employee, but I'd make sure to check that as well before heading home.
EDIT - that's not my car in the picture - it's just a crop from a pic in the gallery.

All makes sense to me--but I ordered a car and left town before it came. I had a truck pick it up so I have not been back to the dealer with it yet (5 months.)
I did ask the sales manager to drive it home for a few days to check it out for me.
It arrived perfect---and I still can't find a reason to take it back for anything.
