Found out from my dealer today that my 550 boards the ship on this Thursday 10/26/05 and to arrive at the westcoast port 27 days later. That seems suprisngly quick..That puts it here on the 9th of November! Not sure of the timeframes on the M Aero Kit install though, hopefully under one business week. Anyone have an idea on that? das?...

The pics with the M Aero Kit and chromed-up M5 wheels will be up shortly thereafter..

I CAN'T WAIT!

My car is at the port, too, but don't know when it will be on a ship. (I wonder how your dealer knows? Is it in the "Selected for shipment" stage?)

From what I have heard, it takes an extra couple days to have the M Aero Kit installed at the VPC, but should definitely be under a week...I would imagine it depends on their workload. How much are they charging you for the kit and its installation?

Where did you get the Style 166 wheels? Where/how are you having them chromed?

This waiting is driving me nuts...

mine is waiting to be placed on a ship too..I "can" handle the wait..it is just another e60. On my first e60 the waiting was dificult. It was as if i was waiting for britney spears and she would never arriave..

She never did...but my e60 did

My 550 spent almost 20 days at the South Carolina VPC ... probably because of the M Kit. It seems to be a popular thing now (ya think?) and they may have been caught short in kits.

Otherwise, my BMW sales buddy in Long Beach said they recently ordered one on a 530 and it took just a few more days than normal at the VPC there in CA.

Good luck with the wait.

Mine is probably going to miss your boat but will hopefully be on the next one!!! How long was it from the time you were told your car was in production to when they gave you a ship date?

A dealer that I am not ordering my car from said it would take 3 days at the VPC to install the kit. Who knows though - they did not even know where to get the kit or how to get it installed until I informed them, thanks to this forum.

My dealer that I am ordering the car from has agreed to install it at their costs. They hope to confirm that costs today. The other dealer that I am not buying from quoted it installed at the VPC, which will invoice the dealer as follows: Parts - $1,012 & labor $1,449 for a total of $2,461. This does not include the rear spoiler which invoices to dealer at $353. MSRP is $3,285 without spoiler and another $505 for the spoiler.

Totally sweet on your order. Congrats...I hope the shipping time flies by.

I am in SoCal... my 550 has an estimated build completion date of 10/17... I cannot wait. I hope mine gets here before Thanksgiving. If it does... there will be a little more to be thankful about.

10-17-05 is also my production finishing date as well, though mine will be going to South Carolina. I wonder if they build the Black Sapphires on the same day, since we both have 550's and in Black Sapphire. Hmmmm.

What are the last digits of your VIN. Mine is 01119. I would be curious if yours is higher or lower.

Regards, Mike.
