IMO, the 528i is an underpowered car compared to it's competition.
BMW is better in terms of suspension/handling - even w/o the Sport Package.
The rest is subjective.

My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny.
2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter.
Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.
In my humble opinions, nothing beats the driving experience you get when you drive a BMW, except for Porsche and some of the exotics.

I think you should test drive both cars and see what YOU think.

The 535, unlike the 528, is not underpowered. The 535 is fast. One drive of it and, if you are a driver who values performance first, thoughts of the E350 will evaporate.

If you are playing with a budget big enough for an E350, why aren't you looking at a 535 instead of a 528?
