I put down a $1000.00 refundable deposit, this was my choice, I just wanted to get it out of my pocket.

When I ordered my 530i with 6-speed they did not want a deposit. I offered and the dealer said it was not needed. This is my 3rd BMW from them. May be that had something to do with it?
I do not like "non-refundable" deposits at all. Usually there is something wrong.

My Ride: Alpine White/Biege 545i, CWP, Nav, Active Steering, Auto Step ordered 2/1/05
I gave them a check for $500 refundable deposit but they did not cash it. They returned it to me when I went to pick up the car.

When I sold my E39 540 with manual I actaully got more for it because it was manual. Seems there were fewer of them, but a lot of demand. Just get what you want and not worry about it. By the time you sell it who cares if you get 1k less, or 1 k more either way? You had the experience of a few years of driving the manual tranny.

My Ride: Currently: (3/1/06) 2002 530i black on black prem, sport, cold, xenon.
I've been discussing this and the dealer would not have a problem if I was not ordering a 1) 550i and 2) a manual. The manual makes it hard for him to sell so the downpayment is necessary. I'm happy with an honest answer from them so all is well.
