All - 3 years passes quickly and its time to soon look at getting a check up. The caveat is I only have 18,500 miles on her and typical with BMW maintenance, I'll likely be told "if the car isn't asking for anything, we don't have to do it now" from my service advisor. Last year at this time couldn't even convince them needed an oil change.

So my question is, what do I need done, checked and potentially replaced to keep her running well - especially as she is a 6 speed manual? Any tips, point to be made, and thoughts are appreciated. List 'em out if you have a list of what would normally be done at 2 and 3 year check up too.

Many thanks in advance for your advice.

Tell your SA to forget what BMWNA pays for ... you want to do everything necessary to ensure long term running reliability and you'll pay for it ... Then sit down and get ready for the news $$$$$$$$$ .

Then tell the SA you were really kidding but do it and let BMW pay for it this time

Stop wanting something to be wrong. Your vehicle is probably in wonderful condition so leave it alone unless you just feel the need to change the oil and filter.
Relax and enjoy the ride!

That's not what I am stating. The car is three years old - so I am questioning what needs to be done; if they find it doesn't need to be done, by proactively looking, then at minimum I had it checked and can rest assure I am doing all I can to keep up with what I need to. This has nothing to do with relaxing, its part of why I have a maintenance plan and a BMW.

Again, looking for some idea of what gets done on a 3 year old car.

have them do a basic 55 point inspection

nothing should need anything changed out

maybe oil and filter if you really feel the need to and a bmc air filter

Here ya go...see page 4 & 5 of the attachment Bav Auto has a recommended maintenance schedule that exceeds BMW's specs that should work for what you need.
