The ordering guide seems to again indicate that the Priority 1 Nasca leather must be ordered with ventilated seats, but cannot be ordered with heated seats.? Don't we have US members with Nasca and heated seats??

I noticed that too. I've asked my sales guy if the satin chrome is an interior treatment ... should get an answer soon.
He did fax me another sheet which summarizes the packages available for MY2006 5 series. It does show shadow line in the sport package but doesn't list satin chrome.
Another odd point is that the order guide shows a space saver tire in the sport package, but the package summary sheet says the sport package comes with run-flat performance tires. Does a spare tire usually come with run-flats?
Yes, the spare has always been part of the US spec sports package as far as I know even though it comes equipped with RFs.

That is exactly what I noticed when the 2005 545i Ordering Guide came out a year ago. I thought that "Satin Chrome" was going to be a semi-matte silver colored finish. Well it ended up that "Satin Chrome" was no different than "Shadowline", they just decided to use a different name.
You can see my post from July 8, 2004 where I posted the 2005 ordering guide and also made a comment that the Shadowline had been replaced by Satin Chrome--->(Click Here)
...And here's another one of my posts from July 8, 2004 where I asked if anyone knows what Satin Chrome is---->(Click Here)
The bottom line is that I went through the same thing last year thinking Satin Chrome was something new, but it ended up that it was a new name for matte Shadowline in the US.

Not for US cars (in the past few years anyway). They would occasionally do it before , but in the last couple of years they (BMW NA) has been refusing non-standard paint orders (even with current BMW colors, let alone past ones). They did not let me take Stratus Gray for my E60, and this was a color that is used on the 6er which is built right next to the 5er in the same factory (Dingolfing). BMW NA does have a reputation of going in cycles where they allow special paint orders for a couple of years and then stop allowing it, and so on. But since the dealer's computer networks were changed a couple of years ago and all orders had to be placed through the BMW network they have not accepted special paint orders. They have a drop down menu when they choose what color to order and the choices are only what is available for US cars. I assume there would still be a way to do it IF BMW NA wanted to, but they don't. My salesman had a client who was the head of one of the movie Studios in Los Angeles and tried to order a 760Li in a special color (Carbon Black I think) and was willing to pay any amount BMW asked for, but BMW NA refused to accept the order. They did not even make an acception in his case.
Things could have changed since I tried to do it a year ago, so its worth a try I guess. Let us know if you try and succeed.
Really? Are you sure about this? I just had a friend order an E46 M3 in Estoril Blue, which is a special order color for the M3. No hassles, just extra $$.
It could be that Estoril Blue is part of the "Priority 1" options for the E46 M3. Just like the vented seats and Nasca leather are for the E60. BMW NA will let you order certain "non-standard" colors for certain models, but even those colors are chosen by BMW NA and added as part of the "Priority 1" options. It gives the illusion of letting people choose special order colors, but only on certain models and only 1 or 2 colors. I would pay $2000 for a non-standard color on a BMW, but let me choose any BMW color that I want and make it available on ALL BMW models, not just a couple of colors on certain models only as part of the "Priority 1" ontion.

Not enough new goodies yet to warrant an upgrade from my 545. Maybe later.
