Well I am about to order a 2004 525i and was curious if anyone knew any official changes for 2005. I have heard rumors, one was that a New Panoramic roof option will be available, the other was that they were going to drop the 525i from the line up leaving the 530i as the new base with a new 3.0l 258hp engine. If they drop the 525i that means it is a significant price increase to just get a new 5 series for 2005, or are they dropping prices.

Anyways, any info for 2005 you guys know about post it here.

Peace

I would recommend waiting 2 1/2 mos before you buy. Supposedly they will have the bugs worked out and you will be able to get Nav, Sirius and Bluetooth working together. Even if you have no interest in any of those items there should be some better deals on the 04s with the intro of the 05s. I have not heard anything about the sunroof, just new color options possibly.

I have also been told the entertainment package will become available around september and I heard a rumor that Active Cruise Control will be available with SMG.

Rix Mix - I think that what you are saying only applies to the new touring model which was just recently launched. It has the panoramic roof option and currently it is not offered as a 525i. Also according to my dealer, the panoramic roof will not become available in the sedan because there is not enough space available to slide it open to the outside (the length of the touring's roof is long enough to hold the panoramic roof when it's fully opened).

Exactly right!
That's what I've heard from BMW HQ Munich.

since I am ordering the car they say it won't be here until last week of augus, but if I would need to wait a few more months fpr an 05 I might, but so far I have seen nothing tangible to wait for. Nothing official from BMW yet huh?

Peace

Another thing I am hearing is that the 7 series voice activated I-Drive will be out on the 5 series Nav option, so I guess not just voice operated Nav but the I-Drive too.

Not too sure thats just what I heard.

Peace

the mercedes panaromic roof in the e class is actually 2 thin curtains which rolls up to open, does not take up the space as suggested in the earlier post, if bmw follows this design it can be done.

I have reserved a spot for Performance center delivery Nov 19. '05 545i, but have not heard about any changes yet from my dealer. Does anyone know typically when the dealer will get the information for the '05??
