All, ready to jump back into BMW ownership. I'm looking to purchase either a 2008 535i or 550i in the next month or so. I'm located up in northern California and have started to put some feelers out with the some dealers throughout the area/state. My preference is for a white, black or grey/gray exterior with black interior and bamboo anthracite trim. Sport package a must with a preference for nav, premium as well. Less than 30k miles for around $30k would be reasonable but would entertain some tastefully done mods or slightly higher miles for a little more. I understand 550i's command a premium over the 535i's and could possibly be convinced to dip into my 3 kids college funds or hold off on shoes and clothes for them this year as well (hehe). I'm fair, understand the emotional connection we have to our cars and am looking to provide a nice good home

Just updating my expectations a bit! While the expectations of the overall specs of the car are the same I can see that I may need to increase my price a bit. Looks like ~$33k-~$35k for a 535i and possibly ~$35k - ~$37k is reasonable? Just trying to get everyone thoughts on it.

Get the 550. Smooth power. Wonderful power curve and strong at all RPMs and no HPFP issue. I love mine as much as the day I got it almost 2 years ago. Just a perfect daily driver. Smooth. Powerful. Decent on MPG for a V8.

 

Well I'm about 4 days away from writing a check for an '08 550i CPO with ~10.5k miles on it. We shall see... we shall see... Wish me luck! Don't ask me how much though - I'll say afterwards if I get it or not
