I honestly cant answer that question, but I will get it answered for you. I wonder if my dealer would be able to tell me that information? I'll look into it first thing tomorrow!

And yes, pjinca, it would be win/win. There's a nostalgic part of me that will want to stay in touch with this car, and knowing an enthusiast has it would be the icing on the cake.

Good news...it is California approved. The emissions sticker/plate reads as follows:

THIS VEHICLE CONFORMS TO US EPA CLEAN FUEL VEHICLE REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO GASOLINE FUELED 2001 MODEL YEAR NEW MOTOR VEHICLES AND TO CALIFORNIA REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO 2001 MODEL YEAR NEW PASSENGER CARS.
