lets just say i own a c6 vette convertible with 625hp. you can basiclly add a few more mods and have as much horse as a zr-1 for about half the cost. i have full widebody z06 conversion on mine also. so it looks like a z06 but its a convertible and i have more power than a z06
Its the same argument the 335i boys make with their piggyback tunes. No matter what they do it is not a M3.

That answers my question, slight bias, but thats ok. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
ZR-1 is limited to 2,000 units worldwide.
You still won't come close to the ZR-1 "ring" time. Go price out a carbon ceramic brake upgrade.

The 335i guys have a twinturbo I6 not a Natural Aspirated I6(e46 m3), and ofcourse the new M3 is an 8. They couldnt come close to replicating a M3 either way. The closes example for a BMW person would be converting you're 545 to a 550 even that would be tough.
But with vettes they have same block, same heads , same TB, same ECU same trans, same IRS...I think bahamutzyro could come close to what a ZR-1 can. Why do you think Corvettes have been the best bang for the buck since 1997. Ok so they dont have the Ceramic brakes or the glass see threw hood.

no because they dont make a convertible z06. but if a zr1 pulls next to me, he will not smoke me. in fact he will be neck and neck. his 0-60 is not faster than mine. and when im done ill be around 745 horse. so basiclly ill smoke him. basiclly everthing a z06 has i have. the difference between the zr-1 and z06 is minor: just that gay carbon fiber trim and the see thru hood which can be installed on my car anyway. but the ceramic brakes are awesome, however i m putting brembos and i would take them anyday over the ceramics since there track proven

The rear ZR-1 15-inch rotors were designed by Brembo for the front of the Ferrari Enzo.
No offense but you might want to read up on the ZR-1. Like swajames the differences between it and the Z06 are not minor.

When I talk about the 335i not ever being the M3, I am referring to the whole package, not just horsepower. This is my same argument for the new ZR-1. The 335i can easily be made faster in a straight line than the new M3 for less than $5,000. You can spend $15,000 on a 335i and it will perform with a M3, but it will never be the complete package the M3 is. The ZR-1 is not just a power upgrade. And the LS9 in the ZR-1 is quite different than the LS3. The 6.2-liter block, which is the same physical size as the LS7 in the Z06, had to be substantially strengthened for supercharged duty. Overall, the LS9's block is 20 percent stronger than that of the standard LS3. The LS9's intake valves are made with lightweight titanium and are set in cylinder heads made from high-strength aluminum. It also has new forged-aluminum pistons connected by titanium rods to the steel crankshaft. Not to mention the dry sump oil system. Simply put the LS3 has had major enhancement to deal with the supercharging, to become the LS9. ZR-1 actually has a lot more than carbon ceramic brakes. A further raced tuned independent suspension front and back, acheiving over 1g cornering grip. The suspension is also adjustable. Similar to the M3 electrionic dampening system the ZR-1 has GM's magnetic selective ride control. Although the ZR-1 is a more aggressive sports car than the Z06, it has a more comfortable ride during normal driving. No harsh bumps like the Z06. Not to mention it is the first Corvette that achieves over 200mph from factory. The differences are endless. Overall the ZR-1 is a completely different car than any Corvette.
LS7 titanium connecting rod = 12586258.. they share the same rod bolt number would you like that as well oh and the dry sump too.
my last post on this, I believe its overpriced.

ZR-1 Nurburgring Time
7:26.4 168.07 km/h -- Corvette ZR1, 620 PS/1519 kg *General Motors development engineer Jim Mero
Z06 best time
7:42.9 - 160.21 km/h -- Corvette Z06, 500 PS/1319 kg, Jan Magnusen
The ZR-1 is $28,000 more than a Z06, for the same reason the Z06 is $16,000 more than the regular Vette. So you think a $100,000 car that beats cars around the "ring" that are $500,000 and $1,000,000, is overpriced. I don't understand your logic. My last post on this.

I am not talking about drag racing. There are Supra's half the cost of your car that would smoke the ZR-1 and your car in a straight line. Straight line performance is not the argumant here. Oh well, I can see I am wasting my time.
FYI: The carbon ceramic brakes on the ZR-1 are made by Brembo.

when im done with my car, ill show you how we do it on the track. i will smoke a zr-1. and ill do it with my top down. the motor means nothing. block doesnt matter. when i finish and i have 800 horse on a worked suspension, brembos sway bars. youll be looking at a 10 second car with a top sped of some where around 220mph. 107,000 is absurd for that car. i do know what im talking about and i have researched the zr-1. all in all, my car will cost half what a zr-1 cost and will out perform it .
