Is that the first time a Chevy is priced over $100,000?
Is that the most expensive GM car ever, including Cadillac?
Chevy used to be GM's cheap brand.

Yep, I believe it is the first time. That said, Corvette is effectively a sub brand within a brand so it's arguably more appropriate to focus on it being a 100K Corvette more than a 100K Chevy. The only other GM car that comes close on pricing is the Cadillac XLR-V which is just over $101,000.

Impressive indeed, yet a Chevy is still a Chevy

Very impressive numbers! All considering, performance wise, the car is still probably the Best Bang for the Buck. The new Caddilac CTS-V is pretty impressive as well as it basically just has a tuned down version of the same engine if I am not mistaken.

Overpriced. I guess its for people who wanna collect the name badge cars. Yes the numbers are impressive, but there are by far cheaper alternatives and getting the same results.

Perhaps you'd care to share your thoughts on what exactly would give you the same performance (205 mph, sub 4 second 0-60, sub 7 second 0-100, 11.3/131 mph quarter mile) for much less money.

Sure.

you take a C6 and you give it some ported L92 heads + cam and exhaust, then you add the magnacharger that takes care off the power. the 205mph is gearing and downforce the the T56 trans has 6th at .82 or something and i doubt they're going into sixth on the top speed run if they are they're rear gearing is around 3.90ish with stock trans ratios. As far as downforce I m sure you can get the body parts needed from chevy or aftermarket I forgot the main builder of them. Google MTI and check out what they build Also Texas speed and performance. LS1tech has lots of info

So say around 40K ish plus the cost of car.

the 11.3@131 is with the car spinning it tires thru 2 gears probably cause the supercar tires that they have are useless when drag racing. have a quicker time and broken diff with drag radials

So your pretty close to 100K now between a C6 and 40K in mods.

the power you can get for under 12K parts and labor

2005 C6 are 40K or less

So your car payment is based off 40K instead of 103. Which means your insurance is slightly cheaper and 20K in your pocket.
