Thing is the Rav starts in the low 20's over here. The V6 Limited starts at around 25K. The 3.0 X3 starts at 36,800. Add in a few options and you're over 40K.

A camry starts in the high teens while the 5er starts in the 40's. Sorry, I don't see your point.

The post is specifically comparing the X3 to the Rav4. Is it really that difficult to see why price of each might just be relevant?

3.5 V6 with 269bhp in a RAV4? WTF!!! Thats faster than a 530i!
RAV 4's here in the UK are usually 1.6-2.0 pensioner/family run abouts comparable to compact family saloons - not even considered competition with the X3! Thats like comparing a Hyundai Sonata with a 750i! Still, I don't understand the logic of putting such a big powerfull engine in RAV4, totally illogical - perhaps it's for you people over the pond who like your engines big and thirsty...

Funnily enough I watched an old episode of top gear last night where clarkson tested the x3.
To sum up - the on road ride was apparently appaling and off road .... well put it this way it got stuck twice and he had to get it towed out.
I also think they look daft.
If you want an x - get an x5 - if you want a mini SUV then there is MUCH better out there than x3.....
Personally - I'd get a Honda CRV

but i think that X3 has the advantage in quality

Honestly, when we compare BMW/MB with Toyota/Honda on paper, Japanese cars will win most of the time.
I still love BMW, why? I love the Brand, and it shows I have great taste.
