yeah
can you believe he actually wonders whether to get an X3 or a Rav4?
but seriously now
which one would you choose if you didnt want to sell your 9 years old MB c240 because thats what he wants to do but he also wants a new car.
P.S. at first i wanted to buy an a6 3.2 quattro and so did he. later when i understood that i was about to do one of the most stupids thing and changed my mind to the 530 he also wanted one .But lately he decided that selling his MB wouldnt worth it so....
would like to hear if i am mistaking
regards

simply tell him there is no comparo between the X3 and the Rav....
This winter I saw an Rav4 driving by me at a very heavy snow and slippery roads.... he had to go over a curb due to a traffic... but he COULD NOT !!!! even if it is supposed to be 4x4 car he got stuck. The RAV simply did not get over a pavement curb on 5cm of snow!!!! would you believe it? and the worst part is that when finaly his front wheel got up there, the rear still could not and how they were spinning he did a 180? spin!!!!! ?????
basicaly tell him it is all about money and his budget. if you have the cash than BMW all the way..... if you do not go for the Hyunday SantaFe.
But either way it is a total nono for Rav4!!!! Toyota is a great company and has one of the most reliable cars but you simply do not buy the RAV as an SUV...... there are others who know how to make one

why do you say the new A6 would be the most stupid idea to buy????
it is a great car. however not sure about the 3.2 engine.... no comparo with the 3i from BMW
of course our BMW is much better enginewise and driving wise but still why the A6 would be stupid to buy? over and E60 yes but otherwise it is a great car I still turn my head around for

hey, there is a good one:
tell your friend that since he is even trying to compare the Rav4 with the X3 than he does not deserve to drive a BMW.... BMW is for enthusiast and for people that want the best driving machine
this will make him think twice and want to get the BMW right away

i said that because i was comparing it with the e60
only because of that. No other reason
i like its design in the front but not that much the back part
i also find the interior kind of back in time with all those classic swicthes and their positioning
also agree with the engine thing. Its 3.2 fsi and 255hp but the 530 is 258 with less displacement and without any fsi technology. Its not a big difference but ....still a difference
back to the topic now:
thats what i also thought
even an x model of the e60 would handle better in snow conditions with aprropriate tires.
i asked because i didnt know if the Rav4 has any hidden potentials but nope

Peter 530 summed it up pretty good.
Absolutely no competition between the X3 & Rav4 - except for maybe pricewise...
Come over to X3world.com, and ask the question there... A lot more people will give you some good experiences to base your arguments off of...

Surely you can't be talking about the new and just updated 2006 Rav4. I'd have one over the X3 in a heartbeat. Rav4 is quicker, nicer looking, better built - and better handling. C&D show 6.3 for the 0 to 60, and .83g on the skidpad for the Rav4. The US version is longer wheelbase than the Japan and Euro market model. Most of the reviews say it's one of the best handling Toyotas.

really?
Didnt know that
i guess i have to do a research then
but i thought i was right because a member from x3world came and agreed with me so i guessed that he knows more about SUVs than me so i stoped there
but i will not agree with you that the Rav looks better than the X3
.......but thats just different opinions.

. I wasn't a big fan of the prior Rav4, and yes, would probably have preferred the X3 to the older Rav.http://www.caranddriver.com/roadtests/1039...ed-4wd-v-6.html
