Brake torquing is only for cars with Step. Left foot on brakes, step on throttle, wait until you reach desired rpms (1200, I think) and release left foot from brakes. Apply constant downward force on throttle. Do not mash on the throttle. This procedure is how Znod and grogan545 achieve such great times with their 545i Step.

Hey NeRwEEzy,
You have a Step right? Why don't you give it a shot? Just like how I described it.

I only brake torque to the point of almost having wheel spin as best I can determine. Wheel spin kills ET's in 545i's and 550i's.

Nice kill Zman.Glad to see you are back in action.I am a little worried about the 335's.Especially in your area because of the altitude.I am sure you are aware that a boosted motor is affected less by altitude and weather than a normally aspirated.I believe under favorable weather at near sea level we can more than hold our own,but might have a problem with a 335 at altitude or less than favorable conditions. What do you thionk Zman?

Zman, grogan,
...check a read here, a friend on our 6er board with a 650 cab spanked a 335i recently, so you may not have that much to worry about: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=173783

Actually, I was thinking that both types of engines should be affected similarly. It seems to me if the boost pressure remains unchanged, then you'd still be boosting air containing less oxygen. But, I really don't know. You probably are right though. You seemed pretty sure about what you said. I'll think about it some more. I do know that top fuelers don't run as well at high altitudes. Apparently, they are unable to compensate completely for the higher altitudes via any kind of tuning, including increasing the boost.
